The newly established University of Tartu spin-off company Blueray values learning and through the lens of our VR-glasses we bring history as live as possible using today`s technology. Together with University of Tartu we devote ourselves to develop virtual reality applications and user experiences in the cultural heritage and tourism sector.
VR Tartu 1913
We have developed a new and exciting virtual reality application from the center of Tartu in August 1913.
The rental point for VR equipment is located near the bridge Kaarsild and the city center of Tartu can be viewed from four observation points located on both sides of the river Emajõgi. You can see the city center of Tartu as it was 100 years ago with all the symbols of the city – the Stone Bridge, the barges, the beginning of Raatuse street, where one of Tartu’s most distinguished hotels, the Bellevue, the first permanent cinema in Estonia, cinema “Illusion”, prestigious commercial buildings and hay market with its sales booths were located. In virtual reality, viewers are welcomed by the Hugo Treffner`s Private Gymnasium for Boys and one of the earliest examples of Art Nouveau architecture in Tartu, Hotel Jakor.
The era and buildings are introduced in several languages – Estonian, English, German, Russian, Finnish and Latvian.
Come and travel in the historic Tartu!
