Make your positive impact on the future of XR edutainment
The XR industry is changing at lightning speed. From the leading gaming industry to the increasing growth and challenging projects in education and tourism. BLUERAY is at the forefront of this evolution focused on visualizing history.
About the role
As we’re taking on a new adventure, we’re looking for a 3D generalist to navigate us in the sea of undiscovered lands, storytelling VR-apps and so much more. We hope to find someone, who likes the opportunity to work with out of the box ideas in different areas (e.g., XR games, solutions for museums, etc.).
Work can be done from seven lands and seas, but it starts ASAP.
What you’ll be doing
Creating history related 3D assets while working within the new Unreal 5 Engine’s constraints.
As an expert in your field, you’ll strike a balance between quality and efficiency to get the greatest possible results in creating photorealistic views of the past within the restrictions of time and technology.
You’ll work alongside with the Creative Director, Lead Developer, Graphic Designer, and other 3D Generalists.
About you
1+ years of experience as a 3D generalist, or another 3D artist role responsible for creating VR-ready assets and worlds.
High quality portfolio demonstrating 3D modelling and texturing.
Expert Modelling and UV skills in Blender.
Experience working with the game engine Unreal Engine 5.
Ability to translate concept, reference photos, artwork and etc into authentic 3D assets.
A team player, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
You share our love for XR, especially the visualization of history.
It’s a bonus if you have some of the following magic in your arsenal of experience: Unity, Houdini 19.5, BIM, AutoCAD, 3D laser scanning.
Seeing is believing
We would love to see your creative work. So, we ask that you provide for this work:
A portfolio (online is preferred)
A onepager with clear guidance about your specific responsibilities and contribution to the work within your portfolio.
About BLUERAY
You can read about past times from books, look at old photos and movies or listen to stories, but have you ever had a chance to step inside history?
The University of Tartu spin-off company BLUERAY develops XR applications in the cultural heritage and tourism sector and offers outdoor VR programs. Our time portals based on virtual reality offer an educational and experiential view back at the past. What makes the program unique is an innovative approach that introduces forgotten buildings and objects where they once stood.
We invite you to travel through time in our virtual time portals “VR Tallinn 1939/44”, “VR Toila 1938” and “VR Tartu 1913”. Our clients are tourism companies, museums, local governments, non-profit associations, and sectoral development organizations.
